If you have been marketing online for quite some time now or looking for how to earn money, whether it's a product you created or an affiliate product, you have setup a site online. If it's your personal product, it's a sales page. If it's an affiliate product/service, it's some type of blog or landing page where you are either reviewing the product or just making a short pitch. In either case, your web site stinks and you know it. Let me go into more details before you take off your head.
Let us begin with your own sales page. If you are still reading this article, then you most likely suspected that what I am saying is true. A big name marketer with huge amounts of success would not be reading this, except it was to amuse himself. But you are reading it because you know it's correct. The question is WHY is it true?
For beginners, you most likely designed the sales page yourself. Marketers just starting out barely have the cash to spend on a copywriter so they do the job on their own. The results illustrate. Your sales page looks like trash. Fail to remember that the copy itself is weak and converts at less than 1%, if that ok. And if you did acquire a copywriter, you got one of those $197 specials from somebody just beginning. Unless you are EXTREMELY fortunate, that copy isn't much better than yours. Whatever, your sales page stinks and you know it.
Now let's move on to affiliate marketing program. This is where these pages get really bad. See most affiliate marketers who are just beginning can barely even afford to get themselves hosting and a domain to at least give the appearance that they are operating a professional internet business. So, they look for a free hosting service that offers them some weird URL that is as long as the Gettysburg Address and littered with banners and ads all over the site, similar to a carnival. Then they slap some lame review or copy together and toss it up there like a last night's waste. Now you understand when I say your website stinks.
If I'm in the wrong, please feel free to disregard the rest of this piece of writing because you don't need the advice that's about to follow.
For sales pages, I implore you to hire a pro. You get what you pay for period. If you have a product or service WORTH selling, get a copywriter with the chops to get the task done. Ensure your graphics are made by a pro too as well as the page design itself. Except you are a killer copywriter, you can not get away with a weak or lose looking page. A professional copywriter can slap his words on a white background and generate sales.
For landing pages, obtain a professional hosting. It will only cost a few bucks each month. Get a domain that is not too long that people can easily remember the name. If you can't write quality content, employ a content writer. Don't leave your business in the hand of fate.
Bottom line, if you are going to accept a job, do it right or don't accept it at all.
To YOUR Success,
John Benjamin
