I don't care how long you have been operating a home business. Once in a while, you have to carry out some research. For instance, when the FTC guidelines came out with effect from December 1 of 2009, I had to carry out some investigation to find out what they were, how they are going to affect my business as well as what I had to do to be compliant. This is after several years of operating a
profitable home business. Alright, don't ever think the day will come when you WON'T have to carry out some investigations for
home business ideas. However, you need to take caution about where you go to make this inquiries and how you go about doing it.
Bad as it is, a lot of individuals out there, especially when they hear about something that is as vital as this, will create sites with this information for the soul aim of infecting your computer with a virus. It has happened to me several times. Luckily, because of my anti virus protection software, I was protected. But a lot of people are not. Perhaps you are one of them. And even if you are, no virus protection gives you 100% guarantee. So you really need to be watchful about where you visit for your research.
Therefore, the best way to deal with this is to ONLY visit authority sites. Let's say you have to research the list of Grammy Award nominees for 2010. Now, if you were to look this up on the internet, you would find a few number of site with lists printed. However, a lot of these sites are of the kind I have discussed about above. They only want to infect your computer with some dreadful virus. So, what you want to do is to search for the main official Grammy Awards site. You can't mistake it when you see it. This site WILL be secured to visit and you WILL be able to get all the information you need from it.
You would do the same thing with any other kind of information. If you are looking for medical info, visit an authority site like WebMD. If you want information about the IRS, visit the official government site. Don't fool around with these Mickey Mouse sites that you don't know from where it popped out. For one thing, you don't know if the information is valid and for another, you don't know what type of virus you might pick up.
It's a sad world we live in, unfortunately. However, it is also the reality that we live in. I can count the number of sites I go to and trust on one hand.
I suggest you do the same when it comes to researching for home business ideas.
Best Wishes,
John Benjamin
