Blogging is one of the trendiest online publishing platforms around these days and can bring massive amounts of traffic due to the way blogs are structured for sharing content, along with being search engine friendly. A blog is just part of the equation when looking to build a profitable business on the web, but a very important aspect which will assist you drive traffic to your offers.
Here are 6 basic rules for running a successful blog
RULE #1:
Write with authorityThe best blogs have content that is clearly well researched and educative. If you know nothing about the topic, do not despair it just needs a little investigation and your ability to out your own spin on things. If you are working in a niche for pure profits and you are fighting to write frequent blog content, you may have to hire somebody to do the writing or look for creative alternatives, such as bringing in guest bloggers etc.
RULE #2:
Stay relevantAlways remain on topic and keep every single post aimed at your audience interests. People love specialist info on the web, and a jack of all trades blog will be difficult to believe and build trust with. In addition, people visiting your blog only want one thing, to learn and be entertained within and around that particular subject of interest. If you are trying to post regular content that is kept on topic, you may need to do more investigation or again, find creative ways to come up with several contents for a long period of time.
RULE #3:
Add content frequentlyBlogs that do not update for weeks or even days on end will always end up being drowned in the competition. Blogs are designed as a finger on the pulse, regular diary on a particular topic. If you dont post regularly, your readers will get hungry for more content and will end up looking elsewhere and boy are there plenty of choices out there for them to run off to.

So use your little slice of the pie to hit the mark, straight to the point, entertain and educate. If you get this right, you will discover that you are gradually rewarded with more of the readers daily/days/months.
RULE #5:
Keyword focusA lot of people get caught up on keywords, but it doesnt have to be complex as you might think. Essentially, you simply need to focus on keywords that are relevant to your blog post title. The title should be compelling as that is the clickable link that the search engines present to readers but try to target keywords that an individual looking for solutions, or to purchase, or who are in a desperate situation.
It is not always possible, depending on your individual blog posts, but as a rule of thumb, always target these type of keywords. When you do, ensure they are included in the title of the blog, in the opening paragraph and at the end of the blog post, and also in the tags section of each post.
RULE #6: Ma
ke your blog STICKIt is a challenge to get people to your blog in the initial place, so it would be stupid to let them slip away for ever once they do get there. There are numerous ways to keep visitors coming back and you are only limited by your own creativity. Maybe, a regular competition, interactive events that requires visitors to come back and check their scores/status/progress and so on? Ensure you have a clearly visible RSS feed that readers can subscribe to in order to receive your content remotely. Lastly, do not forget to promote your email newsletter so you can keep in touch via email as well.
